This Privacy Policy explains how CIVIL REFERRAL NETWORK LLC ("Civil Referral Network," "we," "us" or "our") collects, uses and shares information through civilreferralnetwork.com, the local lead-generation websites we operate for home-service contractors, and the call answering, booking and text messaging that go with them (together, the "Service"). By using the Service you agree to this policy.

Information we collect

Contact details you give us. When a visitor calls one of our websites, asks for a callback or books an appointment, we collect what they provide, such as their name, phone number, email address, the address or town where the work is needed and a description of the job. When a contractor asks about or signs up for a subscription, we collect their name, business name, phone number, email address, service area and the details needed to bill them.
Call information. For calls placed through our websites we keep call records such as the calling number, the date, time and length of the call and how it was handled. Where the caller is told at the start of the call that it may be recorded, we may record the call and keep a recording and a written transcript of it.
Text messages. If you agree to receive text messages, we keep your mobile number, a record of your consent and the messages we exchange with you. See the "Text messaging (SMS)" section below.
Basic analytics. Like most websites, ours and our hosting provider collect basic technical information when a page is visited, such as the pages viewed, the date and time, the referring page, the browser and device type and the visitor's IP address, which can indicate an approximate location. We use this only in summary form, to see how our websites are used and to keep them working.

How we use information

To operate the Service: to run our websites and to connect a caller or visitor with the contractor who serves their trade and town.
To answer and book calls: to answer calls the contractor can't take, book appointments, notify the contractor and keep a log of each call.
To send text messages you have agreed to receive, such as appointment confirmations, reminders and replies to your questions.
For billing: to set up, bill and manage contractor subscriptions.
To keep the Service working and safe: to fix problems, prevent abuse and fraud, and keep records the law requires.

We do not sell personal information. We share information only as follows:

With the contractor you are trying to reach. When you call one of our websites or ask for an appointment, we pass your details and the details of the job to the one subscribing contractor who serves that trade and town, so they can contact you and do the work.
With service providers who work for us. We use companies that provide website hosting, phone and text messaging services, call answering, email and payment processing. They receive only what they need to perform those services for us, and may not use it for any other purpose.
When the law requires it. We may disclose information to comply with the law, a court order or a valid legal request, or to protect the rights and safety of people and of the Service.
If the business changes hands. If the company or its websites are sold or merged, the information may pass to the new owner, who must keep honoring this policy for information collected under it.

Text messaging (SMS)

Consent. We collect mobile phone numbers for text messaging only with the consent of the person who owns the number. We send text messages only to people who have agreed to receive them.
No sharing for marketing. Mobile phone numbers, mobile information and text messaging consent records are not shared with or sold to third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes. The only sharing of mobile information is with the service providers that deliver our text messages for us, and with the contractor you asked to reach, as described above.
Opting out. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message. After you reply STOP, we will send one message confirming that you have opted out, and no more messages after that unless you agree again.
Message frequency varies. How many messages you receive depends on your request, for example an appointment confirmation and a reminder.
Message and data rates may apply, according to your mobile plan.

How long we keep information

We keep information only as long as we need it for the purposes in this policy, including keeping call logs and billing records for the contractor's subscription and meeting legal, tax and accounting duties. When we no longer need it, we delete it or keep it only in a form that no longer identifies anyone.

Security

We use reasonable safeguards to protect the information we hold. No website, phone system or data transfer is completely secure, so we cannot promise that information will never be lost, misused or changed.

Your choices and rights

You can ask us to tell you what personal information we hold about you, to correct it or to delete it, by emailing williamtemple@gmail.com. Depending on the state where you live, you may have additional rights under that state's law, and we will honor them as that law requires. We will not treat you differently for asking. We may need to confirm your identity before we act on a request, and we may keep information the law requires us to keep.

Children

The Service is meant for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us personal information, email us and we will delete it.

Other websites

Our websites may link to websites we do not run, such as public agency pages. Their own privacy policies apply to them, not this one.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the new version on this page and change the effective date at the top.
